First of all I want to say a thanks to everyone who responds to Q's! I am looking at taking fin. I'm 23 years old and want to have a family eventually. I'm scared that even when I stop the drug the horror story sides of becoming sterile will be present. (I won't know until that time comes)!!!? I'm wondering if the sides go once you stop and what are the real concerns from a doctors view point. (My dads a surgeon but not hair and said it would be ok)
Answer: Side effects from Propecia The sexual side effects of Propecia/Finasteride (loss of libido,ED) resolve after discontinuing the medication. There have been reports in the news of men experiencing these effects long after stopping Finasteride(Post Finasteride Syndrome) however these claims have not been scientifically substantiated. We have not seen this syndrome in our practice.

Answer: Propecia - do side effects go away after you stop taking it? Is becoming sterile real? Wow, there are some strong opinions below in this question. One of which I completely disagree with. There are no statistics that stage of that 4-5% of men who take Propecia will have all of these negative symptoms. We have been in practice for quite some time and never seen anyone become sterile let alone suicidal, and all of the other Symptoms that this person stated below.Go to www ISHRS Org Which is the international Society of hair restoration surgeons. There are studies and have all the topics that finasteride and Deutasteride. Propecia a.k.a. finasteride has become a large topic mainly because of the Internet and scare tactics. It’s out of the safe and most men and there is a very small percentage to have issues. You need to have this discussion with her restoration Professional that is well-informed and has an open mind for side effects and pros. Have a good day.

Answer: Trying to receive medical advice on the Internet (even from doctors on the Internet) may cause more confusion. If you believe you are having side effects contact your doctor. Your father may be a doctor but you should still contact your doctor. If you don't trust your doctor's or your father's advice find another doctor you trust.Trying to receive medical advice on the Internet (even from doctors on the Internet) may cause more confusion.

Answer: Propecia Side Effects Propecia rarely gives victims side effects in the first place, and if you happen to be one of the few who experience issues with taking it, they clear up within a few weeks of stopping it. The chance that these issues persist are virtually zero- it is incredibly rare to come across someone with permanent effects from it.

Answer: Propecia - do side effects Propecia side effects may not go away after you stop taking pills. You may have Post-finasteride syndrome, occurs in men who’ve taken finasteride to treat hair loss by a chance of %4-5. That may causes some symptoms include: loss of libido, erectile dysfunction, depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, panic attacks, Peyronie’s disease, penile shrinkage, gynecomastia, muscle atrophy, cognitive impairment, insomnia, severely dry skin and tinnitus. The condition often has a life-altering impact on victims and their families, such as job loss and the breakup of marriages and romantic relationships..so I dont recommend you to use it.
