It is not uncommon to have some shedding of the hair as the follicles go into a little shock shortly after transplant.  This usually occurs anywhere from 3-6 weeks after the procedure.  The hair will start to grow shortly thereafter, and by 9 months you will be 80% of the way there.  Congratulations on your procedure, and best of luck! 

It is normal to lose transplanted hairs weeks after surgery.  It may take 6 to 12 months to see new hairs grow out.

Transplanted graft’s hair starts to shedding in the first week of surgery and may go on untill 4-6 th weeks after surgery. İt is not surprising to lost approx.  %70-80 of all transplanted hair shafts in first month when you are washing, gently rubbing  or touching the head.İt is shock loss and not permanent.New hair at transplant/recipient area starts to grow at 3-4 th month after surgery.

Most patients lose their hair within a week to two months following their transplant surgery, so if you are noticing this it's a perfectly normal thing. The white flakes could just be dry skin, but you should talk to your doctor about it since there's no way to diagnose it over the internet.

Shedding of the transplanted hair is perfectly normal after a hair transplant procedure and will occur anywhere from weeks 2 to 6 post op. Continue to follow your doctors post op care instructions and happy growing!

These hairs will sooner or later shed. They are never a problem for new hairs that start to grow. Usually, there is a lag time between the time the hairs shed (2-8 weeks) and the time the new hair grows (3-8 months). IF for any reason, there is an overlap between the two, pay no attention to it for when the new hair grows, the old hairs from the grafts that may persist beyond 8 weeks, will eventually shed
