This is the 4th night in a row I’ve had sharp unbearable pains. I had my fleur de lis abdominoplasty 4 months ago and haven’t had too much of a problem other than swelling above my navel. Recently the pains first felt like contracting muscles but now I can identify them as sharp, striking, and prickling pain, along with an itch on the inside. Please help

Thanks for your question! In my experience of doing thousands of body contouring surgeries, I’d recommend coordinating this with your plastic surgeon and a good internist. See if they’ll clear you for surgery; I’m sure they’ll run a panel of blood tests. Best of luck to you!

Generally my patients can return to work and non strenuous activities after two weeks. Low impact exercise can begin after four weeks and strenuous activities can resume after six weeks. It is always best to check with your surgeon on post op activity as opinions may vary.
