I had to have medical clearance from my Cardiologist. I see the Cardiologist because I have a Heart murmur (Vsd). She did a stress test and Echocardiogram. Everything came back okay and she cleared me for surgery with one condition that the surgeon give me IV Antibiotics before surgery. Today I received and email letting me know the Surgeon and his Anesthesiologists will go over my clearance and decide. I am wondering if I’ll be able to have surgery. Or is giving me antibiotic serious?

Generally my patients can return to work and non strenuous activities after two weeks. Low impact exercise can begin after four weeks and strenuous activities can resume after six weeks. It is always best to check with your surgeon on post op activity as opinions may vary.
Thank you for your question. I am sorry about your healing issues. Based on the picture it will take few months to completely fill and heal the wound. Please make sure you closely follow up with your PS
This is a great question but it needs to be answered by your surgeon as opinions may vary. The main reason for stopping the medication prior to surgery was to keep the risk of blood clot formation from elevating. Your surgeon will inform you when it is safe for you to resume.
