Hello.I'm 19 years old male.My nasion is low and it creates a visible hump.I don't want my hump getting cut.Instead I want to have something placed in my nasion in order to raise it and make it look like how it looks in my last picture where i used my finger to raise it.Look how flat my nose became! Is injecting fillers in that area safe? Can it cause blindness? What other solutions are there? Please give me all possible solutions to make my nose look like the last picture and tell me which is safe
Answer: Microdroplet Silikon-1000 may be considered for permanent nonsurgical rhinoplastic procedures, such as filling a deep radix. Your candidacy for nonsurgical rhinoplastic treatments would be made at a consultation. Filling your radix or nasion may cause your nose to meet your forehead between your eyebrows, which may be too high. If you're deemed a suitable candidate for for fillers, microdroplet Silikon-1000 may be considered for permanent results. In our experience, Silikon-1000 is not associated with blindness or skin necrosis, unlike temporary gel fillers. Consider consulting with several rhinoplasty specialists so you could see what might be best for you. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph

Answer: #nasion #radix #rhinoplasty The nasion is the intersection of the frontal bone with the two nasal bones in the midsagittal plane. The radix is the depression at the upper edge of the nasal bridge that we see from the outside. The desired corneal plan to radix distance is usually 1/3 of the distance between the radix and the tip, which is 10 to 11mm in most people. The desired radix level is about the level of the upper eyelid creases. From your posted photos it is impossible to assess your baseline because your eye and corneal plane are blacked out and the views are not true lateral views. Since beauty is in the eye of the beholder there is nothing wrong with varying from the desired proportions but if you vary too much you will get strange looks or comments from passersby. There are many ways to lessen the radix depression including temporary filler injections, cartilage grafts, radix implants, fat graft injections etc. Injections to the area can be complicated by skin loss or blindness due to the underlying anatomy so you have to be very careful. Given your less than ideal posted photos it is impossible to say if any of those are appropriate in your case.

Answer: Nasion or Radix Graft Placing a cartilage graft in the radix or nasion will provide the profile straightening you are looking for. This is most commonly done in males or in augmentation procedures where patients have a shallow profile. In my experience, I always place a soft tissue graft over the radix graft to help conceal the edges. You can use alloderm or temporalis fascia for this. Both work equally well.

Answer: Options for Radix? You can try a reversible filler like Juvederm in your Radix and later replace it with a permanent cartilage graft. This will give you a larger nose. The other option is a rhinoplasty with hump removal etc. See a very experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who can show you many photos of his work that look natural.

Answer: Nasal evaluation Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from either radix grafting to elevate your radix or a dorsal hump reduction. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
