1 week post-op. What can I do to fix my butt after BBL surgery I am not satisfied with? (photos)

I appreciate your questions! One of the main considerations when evaluating a patients’ candidacy for Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery is whether they have enough fat stored in their body, so the surgeon can harvest enough fat cells to use during the fat transfer phase. For patients with insufficient fat deposits, the plastic surgeon may advice weight gain before the BBL to qualify for the procedure and achieve a more voluptuous buttock. One week is too short of a time to evaluate your Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) outcome. BBL maximum results will take up to six months to show. I would recommend waiting at least 8 weeks for the swelling to recede and evaluate the results. If you are still dissatisfied with the outcome, consult with your aesthetic plastic surgeon about your concerns and improvements’ options. There may be a percentage of fat that does not take, which is why touchup procedures are sometimes necessary. Best wishes! Dr. De La Cruz.

The results immediately following surgery will be the largest due to swelling and lack of fat resorption.  The buttocks will continue to decrease in size for the first few weeks.   I have observed that between 4 and 6 weeks the buttocks tend to stabilize in volume.  Usually by 3 months, the swelling is minimal and totally resolved by 6 months.

I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a BBL surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides  you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.

Great question!  You're only 1 week out of surgery - your body contour, gluteal shape, and swelling will significantly change over the next few weeks.  Most surgeons wouldn't even consider a revision for at least 6 months.  At that time, you can revisit with your surgeon and discuss any issues you may have.Best of luck and hope this information helps!

You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation is normal.
If you have any concerns, please follow up close with your plastic surgeon.

It is much to early to judge how your BBL will look like.  You are only 1 week post-op with significant swelling and bruising.  It takes several months for you to heal and for the final buttock shape to form.  The areas will soften and swelling will resolve.  I would not perform any revision until at least a minimum of 3-4 months have past.  Please be patient and allow your body to heal.  Good luck
