About 48 hours ago I had stacking done on my muffin tops and lower tummy. At the end of 4 hours I actually passed out due to the pain. I feel exhausted and in pain. Is there anything I can do to ease the pain and the swelling? (I'm alergic to ibuprofen and aspirin). My job is quite physical and I can't take time off.
Answer: Pain after Coolsculpting Treatment Thank you for your question. It is quite normal to still be experiencing pain 2 days post-treatment. Some light compression may help with the swelling and I suggest following up with your provider if you require prescription medication. Regards,

Answer: Swelling after Coolsculpting Thank you for your question. It is common to have some swelling, numbness and tingling after Coolsculpting treatment which typically resolves in a few weeks and can take up to 3-4 months to see results. If you are having any discomfort you can take Tylenol. If Tylenol doesn’t work or can try Neurontin which is a prescription medication. I recommend having a follow up with your treating physician to address your concerns. Best of Luck!

Answer: Neurontin (Gabapentin) for more severe pain If Tylenol doesn't work, to manage the pain, you can try topical lidocaine (gel or patches) or neurontin. Neurontin is a prescription pain medication that is used to treat neuropathic pain (pain derived from irritated or dysfunctional nerves). The pain from CoolSculpting is generally at its worst right around 48 hour mark. It should start to subside and become much more manageable within a day or two. Hope this helps, Dr. Garry K. Kim

Answer: Pain after Coolsculpting Following Coolsculpting it is normal to have some tenderness & swelling. While only the fat cells are destroyed with Coolscultping, nerves can be temporarily injured. This usually resolves within about a month with no permanent damage. We now use the newest Cool Advantage applicators in our practice and are observing less patient discomfort post treatment than before with the Cool Max applicators. Considering your allergies, you are safe to take Tylenol. We always recommend are patients to wear compression garments post treatment & continue physical activity. These will all help alleviate the tenderness. If you are having pain that is interfering with your normal daily activities & sleep, please follow up with your provider. He/she is able to prescribe Neurontin to help with the nerve pain.

Answer: Pain after Coolsculpting Pain after Coolsculpting can be caused by injury to the nerves of the skin. This will last up to 3 weeks. It is usually controlled with lidocaine patches which can be purchased OTC. If not responding, Neurontin can be prescribed for it. Zimmer Z wave and the new Cooladvantage handpieces seem to cause less of this problem than massage and older handpieces.
