Can I get CoolSmooth/coolsculpting done even if I am taking Yaz birth control?

I've been on Yaz (which says increases blood clots by 75%) for about 2 years now and have had no problem. I'm interested in getting coolsmooth or cool sculpting done but I am afraid of the blood clots. Any advice?

Yes, you can have Coolsculpting while taking YAZ. Keep in mind, for best results with Coolsculpting, a combination approach is needed. I recommend adding radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra for skin tightening and skin smoothing. VASER with ThermiRF is a great alternative. Hi,
There is no risk for developing blood clots after the CoolSculpting procedure.  There is no interaction with birth control.  There is a risk of blood clots from taking birth control, however.  That is something worth considering.  You may want to consider an alternative form of birth control, if the risk of blood clots concerns you greatly.

There is no problem taking Yaz or other birth control pills and having Coolsculpting (CoolSmooth) done.  Coolsculpting does not effect your risk of blood clots.  There is a greater risk of clots with oral contraceptives in general but that risk is not effected by having Coolsculpting of any kind.  You should be fine to have treatment- no worries.

There is no known correlation between Coolsculpting and an increased incidence of blood clots.  You can safely be treated with Coolsculpt.  If you are worried about risk for blood clots I suggest making an appointment with your OB/GYN to discuss alternative birth control methods.
