Unlike earlyversions of liposuction, CoolSculpting has no demonstratedassociation with either fat embolism or blood clots. It is a verysafe procedure that works by lowering the temperature of fat cellssufficiently that they begin to destruct and are gradually eliminatedthrough the lymph system. The only real side effects may be someredness, swelling or bruising after the procedure. These generallyresolve within hours to days. You can improve the look of yourresults by adding radial pulsed therapy with Zimmer Z-Wave after yourCoolSculpting session. Itshould be noted that not all liposuction is dangerous. At our center, liposuction is performed as tumescent liposculpture. This very safeprocedure does not require general anesthesia, has quick healing andin 20 years, we have never had a blood clot or embolism. These sideeffects essentially don’t occur with tumescent liposculptureperformed properly. Sometimes when a patient comes in for aCoolSculpting consult, we realize tumescent liposculpture is aquicker and less expensive alternative. It also works the oppositeway…sometimes CoolSculpting is the best alternative if there isn’ttoo much fat and it is localized to discrete fatty bulges. Pleasefind a board-certified dermatologist who is certified by Zeltiq toevaluate you for CoolSculpting, and also experienced in tumescentliposculpture, so you can be bikini-ready by summertime.
Coolsculpting is a safe procedure and does not have the risk of blood clots or fat embolism. Keep in mind, for best results with Coolsculpting, a combination approach is needed. I recommend adding radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra for skin tightening and with Z wave/Cellutone for skin smoothing. VASER with ThermiRF is a great alternative. Hi,There are no risks of blood clots or fat clots for CoolSculpting. The most common side effect that people experience is numbness and a prickly sensation across the treatment area. You can experience discomfort and pain as well. Longer term side effects include numbness or paresthesias (burning/prickly) that can be present for weeks after treatment. This is relatively rare. We don't see this happening to too many people. Hope this helps,Dr. Garry K. Kim
CoolSculpting is an extremely safe treatment. Fat embolism or blood clots have not been seen with this treatment. Localized pain, bruising and rarely nerve pain can occur. Even more rarely, paradoxical adipose hyperplasia can be seen.
Hello ticfamily,Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. I am not aware of any reports from the trials or since its worldwide use of blood clots or fat embolism after CoolSculpting treatments which can be associated with liposuction. Very safe and effective treatment.
Coolsculpting is an extremely safe procedure and does not have the risk of blood clots or fat embolism as liposuction does. In general, the risks of Coolsculpting are: bruising, pain, delayed pain, uneven results, need for more treatment, and the rare paradoxical adipose hyperplasia.

I have never treated someone 5 times in the same area. However, I believe that there is continued improvements with each treatment. Keep in mind that 20-25% of a smaller area gives smaller results. I always include Zimmer Z wave after each treatment to get more fat loss, up to 100% more, then ...
Hello and thank you for your question. We looked for a reliable, safe, scientific fat treatment machine for many years. Everything I looked at had unreliable and erratic data, or was too uncomfortable for the patient or had placement applicators that did not meet most of our patients'...
Thanks for a great question! As long as there is no underlying hernia there is no reason you could not have coolsculpting over the scar. It will not effect scar tissue, nor decrease it's size. It will only work on the underlying fat cells around the scar. It is a...
