Is it possible to get CoolSculpting over a scar?

I have a scar vertical on my stomach upper and lower abdomen will coolsculpting work on stomach with the scar

The optimal indications for call sculpting our body rejuvenation and fat reduction without any incisions. They pre-existing incision indicates that the patient already has a scar and therefore may find a abdominal rejuvenation procedure which more satisfactory if it includes revising the scar and excising the excess skin and fat. 
 With that said it may depend on whether or not there is any cicatricial scar tethering underneath the scar. If this is the case then the cool sculpting procedure will more likely than not be exceptionally uncomfortable. Also consideration for a possible ventral hernia and underneath the scar is also a consideration for avoiding cool sculpting. However cool sculpting adjacent to this areas may be very beneficial. Obviously seek out a plastic surgeon is board-certified and can help you  with the full range of abdominal rejuvenation.

Thank you for your question. Coolsculpting can be performed over the scar as long as there is no underlying hernia. If the scar 'tethers' the skin down to the underlying tissues, there may still be the indentation from the scar even though the fat on either side has been reduced in its thickness. A consultation with a board certified Plastic Surgeon is recommended.

Thanks for a great question!  As long as there is no underlying hernia there is no reason you could not have coolsculpting over the scar.  It will  not effect scar tissue, nor decrease it's size.  It will only work on the underlying fat cells around the scar.  It is a very safe and effective treatment for those stubborn fat pockets. It is possible to get Coolsculpting over a scar as long as there is not a presence of a hernia. This is why it is important to be evaluated by a plastic surgeon who can examine your abdomen and make sure that the procedure is safe.
