Could it be possible that 6 weeks after having a tummy tuck, I can bleed internally?

I had a tummy tuck 6 weeks ago, nothing out of the ordinary like any other surgery but today I suddenly have a pain under my right breast, pain not like sore from doing crunches but pain, Im afraid of the worst like if I may be bleeding internally from a torn stitch.

Thank you for sharing your question.  Although it would be really rare at 6 weeks to experience any internal bleeding I would contact your surgeon for this acute change in your recovery.  Likely all is well but your physician can provide you with reassurance.

While a hemorrhage six weeks after tummy tuck would be exceedingly rare, any significant symptoms really should be discussed with the person who performed your surgery.  I am sure they would want to know that you are concerned, so give them a call!Best of luck!

It is not uncommon to have pain or discomfort when you are 6 weeks out from surgery.  It is likely the results of doing too much too soon.If there was bleeding, the area would expand and perhaps show bruising.I would recommend discussing this with your plastic surgeon as well to make certain everything is going in the right direction.Hope that helps.

Having pain or significant discomfort 6 weeks after surgery is not uncommon at all. There are a few reasons that this occurs which have nothing to do with internal bleeding. In fact, it would be rare for such bleeding to occur at this point in time.Nevertheless, you should contact your plastic surgeon regarding you discomfort and concerns. Pain can happen  from over activity. Bleeding can show up as bruising, possibly rapid expansion of the affected area, and pain. Best to review with your doctor in person.
