Why is my nostril higher than the other? (photo)

It's my 12th day of rhinoplasty but I am very worried due to my nostril looking higher than the other. Is it the swelling or is that the way it will end up?

It's too early to make value judgments with only 12 days after a rhinoplasty.Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity.In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months.To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Twelve days is too early to evaluate results from your rhinoplasty.  Swelling takes months to go away.  As the swelling goes away it does so intermittently and asymmetrically.  This means it will happen faster at some times and also quicker on one side versus the other. Have patience and ask your surgeon to reassure you regarding these issues.  Best of luck.

The base of your nose may hold onto swelling for a full year postoperative, and your nostril asymmetry may improve on its own. Consider re-asking your question with photos in another month or two. Wishing you well. Dr Joseph

As I am sure your board certified surgeon has told you,it takes a full year for final results after rhinoplasty.

At 12 days out, assume that you will have some swelling and therefore possible asymmetry.
You also still have tape on the nose which can itself alter the position.

Follow up with your board certified surgeon.
