Swelling/recovery time for knee liposuction?

Question

I'm 37 years old, in good shape and looking into possibly getting inner knee liposuction along with my breast augmentation procedure. However, I am concerned about the possible recovery time of the knee lipo. I am a performer and will need to be on stage singing and lightly moving around two weeks after the procedure. Will I be able to do this with knee lipo? Or will I still have too much joint pain/swelling/bruising by the 2-week mark?

Thank you for submitting your question. You should be fine to perform after 2 weeks.  Swelling from knee liposuction takes longer than other areas of the body.  Liposuction does not affect the joints.  Discuss ypur level of activity with your surgeon and follow his advise. Best Wishes

After two weeks you should see improvement around the knee and bruising for the most part should be gone. However you'll see continued improvement for months to come.

Knee lipo will result in swelling and most of the swelling usually goes away within 4-6 weeks but some residual swelling will last 4-6 months and sometimes longer.

sherezada9,Recovery is generally rapid after liposuction of the knees, particularly with straightforward tumescent approach, where bruising and swelling should be relatively small, and simple compression with ace bandages is feasible, rather than a full formal garment, unless lipo of areas above is also done. Even with swelling that may be more gradual to resolve, the discomfort level is usually low.  This should almost certainly allow you to return to full activity by 2 weeks after knee liposuction in most instances.  I hope that this helps. should be fine to move around in 2 weeks after knee lipo. the BA will take longer with bouncing activities then the knee lipo.

I have found that knee liposuction usually gives excellent results that most  patients are pleased with.  The final result will take months, not weeks to get to, I would estimate 6-8 months for some one your age.  At 2 weeks there will definitely  be swelling, and likely  some bruising but there should not be joint pain.  If you can wear tight pantyhose in your act you should be fine.  Good luck and be patient.  Wear support garments for at least 2 months.
