What can one do about scar tissue above the belly button after a tummy tuck?

Abdominoplasty scars can be quite complex, ranging from the simple hypertrophic scar to a multiplane inflamed keloid. Pigmentation, discoloration, chronic inflammation, scar visibility can all occur in the short term. It is possible to develop scar tissue this long after surgery. If you're concerned about the appearance and feel that it is not acceptable, I certainly recommend that you discussed the matter with your plastic surgeon.It is imperative that you seek the advice of a plastic
surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has
extensive experience in tummy tuck/abdominoplasty.

Having excess scarring after tummy tuck is not uncommon!  Depending on the level of the scarring (Skin, Fat, muscle fascia) you can usually find a treat,int to improve the area.  Skin scarring can be addressed with either scar revision, lasers, steroids or a combination.  Fat level scarring can be addressed with touch up liposuction and/or lipodissolve.  Deeper scarring can also be addressed by other techniques as well.
