A mastopexy or breast lift operation is designed to improve the shape and position of the breast without reducing their size. It is used for breasts which sag or droop (ptosis). Sagging of the breasts may occur for many reasons, and the type of breast lift procedure can help recover the shape and contour of your breasts. The donut surgery will create an elevated, more youthful breast contour. Also, the procedure will create nipple and areolae of the desired size and at the correct height. Most commonly, we prefer the lollipop or donut lift because of the shape, small scars and easier healing. These newer techniques are utilized in the vast majority of cases, the rare exception being extremely large breasts. The nipple-areola complex is repositioned higher, the excess skin is removed, and the breast is reshaped in a pleasing contour and in a more normal position.
A vertical breast lift may be a reasonable option just based upon your photo, but an exam will be necessary to make a determination. Find an expert in breast surgery in your area who has great reviews and great before and after photos.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
Youare an excellent candidate for a new technique called The Mini Ultimate BreastLift™.Using only a circumareolaincision it is possible to reshape your breast tissue creating upper polefullness, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increaseyour cleavage.Aligning the areola andbreast tissue over the bony prominence of the chest wall maximizes anteriorprojection without implants.Thistechnique avoids the ugly vertical scars of the traditional technique, maintains nipple sensation and the ability to breast feed. The scars are hidden at the areola-skinjunction.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Thank you for your picture. I think that you can benefit from a lollipop style lift wish her implants. The incision goes around the areola and down toward the crease from the base of the area. This will give you a pleasing brecciated overtime.
Based on your pictures it seems unlikely that a doughnut lift would be adequate for you. Either you add some volume, or you remove more skin (which would leave more scars), to get perkier breasts.
Hello and thanks for this question. Most women who need a lift are worried about scarring. They want a lift that gives them as little scars as possible. The problem there is that the less a surgeon does to lift, the less time it will last and may not look as natural as a complete lift. I rarely do a doughnut lift because it just does not look as good as a standard lift with anchor scars. In 27 years, I have never had a woman complain about their scars when they see how nice their shape is with the lift. Scars take about 1 to 2 years to fade but always do. You just need to find an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon.
The donut, doughnut, periareolar, circumareolar, benelli lift has many names. But it remains a procedure with little utility. The donut lift can elevate a slightly low-positioned nipple and can reduce the diameter of an enlarged areola. But it tends to flatten the breast instead of improving its shape. It has a scar that is very unpredictable and usually poor even when "blocking" sutures are used. You would be much better served having a vertical breast lift (lollipop scar) in which the breast tissue is shaped and the excess skin that is removed to tighten the breast is removed from the lower part of the breast instead of from above the nipple. The donut lift tries to pull the nipple upward and the vertical lift pushes it upward. The tissue dynamics of a vertical lift are just much better than the donut lift.
Hello, thank you for your question. As i can see in your Picture you don't apply for a doughnut breast lift because of the laxity of your breast, you're a better candidate to a breast lift with implants over the muscle and an anchor incision. That way we can treat you skin laxity properly to get yoy a perky and firme breast. Make sure to choose a board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.
Thank you for your question. You maybe a candidate for a donut lift. You would need a physical examination to determine which breast lift would give you the best results. There are three major types of breast lifts. They all can reduce the size of your areola. They are called donut lift, lollipop lift and anchor lift. I utilize the HALPERN breast marker, which I invented, when performing these lifts. When performing a breast enlargement I use the bloodless breast enlargement technique which I invented. Bleeding is typically minimal, pain is minimal, recovery is fairly quick versus traditional techniques. For more information please watch the enclosed video. I hope you find this information useful.
You have significant breast sagging and you would be dissapointed with a doughnut type breast lift. Depending upon the size of implant you select you will need either a vertical or an inverted T type breast lift. Your surgeon will help you make this decision.
Yes. Dissolvable stitches can spit, be tender, and cause pain even though the skin has healed. There are a number of reasons for this including the actual type of suture used (braided suture is more prone to spit than monofilament), cleanliness of the skin at the time of surgery, patient allergy...
Yes, scar tissue from a breast lift procedure can potentially cause nerve damage, though it is not extremely common. Here’s how it can happen: 1. Surgical Trauma: During the breast lift surgery, nerves in the breast tissue and around the nipple area can be stretched, compressed, or i...
Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and...
