Hi,I had a gland excision 10 days ago and the left side is showing extremely good results but the right side looks extremely lumpy and irregular.The asymmetry is abnormal.Is there still some residual gland left on the right side or is it just the post surgery swelling?

Asymmetry between the right and left sides after gynecomastia surgery can occur for various reasons, including variations in the amount of breast tissue removed, differences in healing and swelling, or pre-existing differences in chest anatomy. It’s important to discuss any concerns about asymmetry with your surgeon, as they may be able to provide guidance or perform revision surgery if necessary to address the issue. Post-operative swelling and healing can take time, so it’s also important to be patient during the recovery process.

Good morning and thank you for your question, some asymmetry is normal throughout the entire process. It is too early to assess the symmetry or outcome of your surgery. It may take about 6 to 8 weeks for swelling to resolve. I would recommend you to give it at least 6 weeks and wear your pressure garment and discuss your concern with the plastic surgeon.
