Should I get Propecia induced gynecomastia surgery?

Hello, I have Propecia induced gyno. I never had any fat at all before taking Propecia then over a few months to years I noticed all the fat going on my chest and stomach. I’m NOT prepared to stop taking it but wouldn’t mind doing something about the gyno. Is surgery an option to remove gland or lipo or will it just return as I continue Propecia? Thanks

Unfortunately almost all insurance companies consider gynecomastia surgery cosmetic and will not cover any of the fees. However, it wouldn't hurt to have your surgeon attempt to get coverage for you. Good luck.

You will need to wait until your chest heals completely from surgery before you see your final results, and that may be several weeks or months from now. For my patients who have breast tissue and fat, I use liposuction and surgical excision to get optimal results. I use liposuction alone only...

I remove most of the tissue with liposuction so I always use a compression garment for a few weeks. Looking at your photo you either have a lot of swelling or a lot of tissue remaining. Discuss your needs with your surgeon. Good luck.
