2 weeks after gynecomastia surgery, feeling depressed that my chest has not changed at all. Advice? (photos)

Question

2 weeks ago i had gynecomastia surgery from a renown doctor and he took out gland and did lipo suction and sent me on my way. now i am 2 weeks since the procedure and it is like nothing has changed. My chest isn't flat at all and feels lumpy and seems like there is still tissue left behind. I was expecting a much flatter chest. Maybe the pictures will explain. I am already thinking about revision surgery and it is not even a month into my surgery.

You are only a few weeks post-op. It will take a few MONTHS to see your final result. At that time if you are unhappy with the result you can obtain consultations with other board-certified plastic surgeons for a revision procedure. In the meantime, follow the advice of your surgeon and be diligent about wearing the compression vest that i assume was given to you to wear after surgery. I hope this helps. Dear notapushhover,it is still to early to see the final results of your surgery. Swelling after surgery is probably causing your problems. It can take a few weeks until the swelling resolves. If you are concerned, you can consult your plastic surgeon.  Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS

It is way too early to see your final result, it can take several months for all of the swelling to resolve. Try to be patient and give your body a chance to heal. Good luck!

I know that it is frustrating to not have your final results immediately, but recovery takes time. It will be months before you are completely healed and the swelling has fully dissipated. Be patient. Your chest will continue to improve daily. There is a good chance that you won't need any kind of revision but even if you do, you want to wait at least 6 months before considering. Sounds like your doctor was not so renowned after all ! In general, I recommend that you consider VASER liposuction on your revision surgery. Please evaluate your doctor's before and afters so that you don't get disappointed again.
