For a more defined jawline to strengthen your profile (and help prevent the dreaded jawline "jowl" sagging), we use injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa - a filler known to limit swelling and give subtle, soft enhancements - or Radiesse. Using a cannula to limit pain and swelling, we inject on the bone in strategic points to get more lift and shaping, resulting in a more contoured lower face and defined, structured jawline. I would suggest getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for your question! As we get older, facial aging can cause our skin to become more lax/droopy. Based on your pictures provided, achieving a slimmer and more defined jawline is achievable! The best way to tackle the issue of a non-defined jawline would most likely be a combination of procedures. Liposuction to the neck/jowls could assist in removing any excess fullness that remains post your Kybella treatments. Once the extra volume has been taken down, patients may often be left with excess skin. Neck/face and jowl liposuction can also be combined with a Necklift to get rid of any excess skin that is hindering the jawline from being seen. It is important to find a provider who is qualified and knowledgeable in these procedures to ensure best results. Your physician should do a full facial evaluation, understand your goals, and provide the best treatment plan to get to your desired results.
Dear Terrific922604,Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
From your photo it appears you would have the best result from a neck lift with liposuction for additional contouring. Liposuction alone will not address the laxity of skin, leaving a less than optimal result. See a board certified plastic surgeon near you to learn more.
The one Limited photograph demonstrates significant fat deposits in the neck located above and below the platysma muscle in your neck in addition to loose an elastic skin in the neck itself. A lower face and neck lift is going to be required to tighten loose facial and neck skin, tighten loose facial and neck muscles, lift the towels, and remove the fat deposits above and below the platysma muscle in addition to a platysma-plasty which significantly improves the jawline.
Based upon the posted 1 photo, I would offer full open neck lift with under chin lipo/ HA fillers to jaw line and anterior chin or chin implant Fee in the $15,000 ranges
There are a lot of variables to consider when it comes to making a proper assessment regarding the lower 1/3 of the face and neck.A good assessment should always begin by looking at facial skeletal structure. Usually this is the culprit when people have concerns about how they look especially regarding premature signs of aging, double Chin, lack of a jaw line definition and premature jowls. It’s hard to tell from a single limited picture but I believe both your mandible and maxilla are lacking in forward projection and this is the underlying cause for why the soft tissues drape your face and neck the way they do.When the problem is based on bone structure attempts of improvement by soft tissue manipulation often fail or at best give limited improvement. To get a thorough assessment and proper understanding I suggest starting with a local highly experienced oral surgeon or board-certified plastic surgeon with cranial facial background. You may opt for something less than facial skeletal rearrangement though it is probably the best way for a definitive treatment.Simply reducing subtitanious fat is probably not going to have much impact in your case. A well done necklift is probably a more realistic option.Look for providers with proper training, years of experience with a proven track record based on impressive collections of before and after pictures of patients with similar characteristics.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. Buccal fat pad gives slimming not symmetry. Masseter botox will make you slimmer and make the jawline more loose. Fillers help give shaping and contouring. If you want perfect or close to perfect symmetry...
You have an underdeveloped chin and the soft tissue overlying the jawline is giving you the 'dips'. A genioplasty done properly will extend the chin and improve the profile and frontal contours yielding a more tapered appearance.
This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. See an expert who does facial shaping with surgical and non surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.
