Hello, I would like to know can fat be transferred to breast purely without ( stem cells ) because I’ve read many studies that stem cells can induce breast cancer cells and I really want to do fat transfer but fat only without stem cells is that possible? Thankyou.
Answer: Is it possible to have a breast fat transfer done with fat that contains no stem cells? All fat contain stem cells ,The breast itself contains a large amount of fat that naturally contains stem cells.

Answer: Fat No, all fat transfers contain stem cells, and no fat transfers have been shone to induce breast cancer. Your "studies" were probably not medically written. Fat transfers have been done since 1890, the very first breast augmentation.

Answer: Fat transfer Dear munirah97x, fat transfer breast augmentation is a viable alternative for women who desire larger breasts without the use of implants. Fat transfer is also widely used in reconstruction of the breast after a mastectomy or lumpectomy. It can also be very effective in correcting the size and shape of the breasts due to genetic problems such as tuberous breast or Poland Syndrome, two conditions that look like misshapen or underdeveloped breasts. In addition, the following scenarios are also reason to consider breast fat grafting:• If you have chest areas that appear creased and sunken• If you desire more permanent correction than is provided by temporary fillers• If you wish to improve your body contour, revise scars, fill bodily depressions and rejuvenate the natural curve of your breasts• To fill in contour irregularities or hide obvious signs of breast implantsYou should discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon and make sure your surgeon understands your concerns and your breast augmentation goals. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Fat transfer There is no practical way of knowing if your fat has stem cells. I understand your concern but there is not association between fat transfer and breast cancer. However if you have a family history of breast cancer do not get fat transfer. If the fat becomes lumpy it will be hard to tell what lump could possibly be cancer. And finally fat transfer is simply not all its cracked up to be. Most results are iffy at best

Answer: Stem cells and fat transfer You can isolate stem cells but you cannot isolate non-stem cells. Fat has a certain percentage of stem cells in it and when you graft fat the stem cells will come with it. Stem cells do not cause breast cancer. If that was the case then people would be developing breast cancer throughout their fat layers where they have stem cells. Fat transfer is simply transferring the fat from one part of your body to another part through a process called grafting. this is very similar to our fruit trees are grafted or any type of tissue can be grafted like a skin graft on a burn victim or a bone graft for someone who needs oral surgery reconstruction. Individuals who are highly risk averse should probably avoid cosmetic surgery. Developing breast cancer because of transferring stem cells is probably one of the risks that is so low on the list it doesn’t warrant mentioning. There are plenty of good reasons to be apprehensive about having cosmetic surgery including liposuction with or without fat transfer. Your concern is simply theoretical and does not represent a risk that actual patients experience. Considering the prevalence of breast cancer, issues with screening after fat transfer it’s probably much more of a real concern. Even so we have not found the radiologist are missing any more breast cancer because women are undergoing breast fat transfer. Results from this procedure are relatively subtle and delivering consistent quality results is more difficult than most people believe including plastic surgeons. Fat transfer can increase breast size a modest amount typically 1/2 cup. It does however not change the shape of the breast in any significant manner at all. It is not for everyone and nobody needs to have breast fat transfer. Risk averse individuals are probably better off not having cosmetic surgery. All surgery comes with the risk. The risk can be minimized by patients wisely choosing providers with sufficient skill and experience to deliver consistent quality results. To find the right provider I suggest patient schedule exclusively in-person consultations at which time you should ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection and before and after pictures for the procedure you’re interested in. confirm that all after pictures were taken at least three months from the date of the procedure. an experience provider should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before and after pictures of commonly performed procedures. Surgeons who lack sufficient experience will not get consistent quality results. Early postoperative pictures can look very impressive for fat transfer but do not at all represent final results. Anybody who is sufficiently interested in having cosmetic surgery to contemplate actually having the procedure it should start the process by having multiple in person consultations. It’s not possible for individuals who are not trained in the specialty to assess surgical procedures, candidacy or the implications. Have faith in the provider and focus all your efforts in finding the right one. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
