I'm a 36 year old male and interested in having something done about my asymmetrical eyes. What are my options?
Answer: Surgical Treatment Options to Address Unilateral Ptosis. Thank you for your question and pictures! Yes, sagging eyelids can be corrected with blepharoplasty or cosmetic eyelid surgery of either the upper or lower eyelids. From the picture that you have provided, it seems that you may have ptosis. Surgical eye treatments will address this and it is one of the first cosmetic surgeries people usually get. While the average age might be 30 to 50's, some patients get this done in their 20s. It really depends on your genetic makeup and anatomy in addition to what exactly is bothering you. A lot of surgeons hate answering the cost question because there are a wide variety of surgical and nonsurgical options and combination procedures. The prices also vary widely depending on what part of the country you're from. The usual range is anywhere from $3,000 -$10,000 for board-certified plastic surgeons. An upper blepharoplasty in our office is $3000. Our price includes all surgical fees, private transportation, 3 scar laser treatments after surgery, and post op massage therapies to help you heal quicker and optimally. More definitive pricing can be provided after a private consultation in our office. I would recommend that you see a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area that is a member of both ASPS & ASAPS and performs a lot of eyelid surgery but also offers all the nonsurgical options such as injectables and laser treatments. Go over your concerns with them and make sure above all, you walk out of there with several options and an idea of the pros and cons to each of them as well as realistic expectations. I hope my answer helps and if it does, please take a moment to upvote this answer on the “response” button on the top right. Have a great day.
