Would upper blepharoplasty swelling make upper eye looseness come back?

I am wanting to do an upper bleph, but I know the swelling in that area can be pretty intense.. will the swelling make the skin stretch out again and 6 months later have it be as loose as before? Seems like it could be a waste of money

Hello and thank you for your question. While swelling following upper blepharoplasty can distort the area during the immediate recovery period, this typically resolves without resulting in excess loose skin. I recommend an in office discussion with your provider for further evaluation of your eyelids and discussion regarding surgical expectations.

If you want the best idea of what is possible for your eyes, do your due diligence, find an experienced surgeon, and have him/her evaluate you in person and discuss your options. During the surgery a small amount of excess fat and skin will be removed, and your crease can be set a bit higher. #drdonyoo

Thank you for your question. In an upper blepharoplasty, excess skin, and sometimes fat, is removed. Although there is swelling for about a week, it isn't severe enough to stretch the skin into being as loose as prior to surgery. I would suggest looking into before and after pictures of this procedure at 6 - 12 months after to get an idea of what results would look like. All the best!
