I have had ileostomy for many years. Recently lost 30 pounds. A band of fat remains on my upper abdomen which results in concave areas on both sides of stoma. Despite best efforts I experience much more frequent failure of surgical appliance at one or both of these hollow areas and thought a flatter stomach might help.

Answer: Can a patient with an ileostomy get Coolsculpting? I would not recommend Coolsculpting on the abdominal area in someone with an ileostomy. Options to consider for this are Sculpsure, Trusculpt, or Kybella. I'm afraid the suction will affect the ostomy adversely.

Answer: Cool sculpting Cool sculpting would not be recommend for anyone who has an ileostomy. Although cool sculpting only targets fat cells there is an inflammatory response that occurs with any injured tissue. With cool sculpting this inflammatory response comes in 3 days, the time that is required for fat cells to die. Chronic inflammation is a given with someone who has an ileostomy present and creating further injury around or near the ileostomy from a cool sculpting procedure could result in worsening problems with the ileostomy.
