I've sunken eyes. I have got them recently and I apply almond oil daily but it isn't helping. I have braces too and somewhere think it has happened because of them too and I have lost weight too, not recently but months ago. I have braces for 1 year and 4 months!
Answer: Sunken eyes usually occurs from genetic predisposition, weight loss, aging, or Eyelash enhancers (Latisse & similar treatments) Hi Tarushi, I think this a great question. I think you will need to figure out what your original weight was prior to the hollow eyes. If you were to regain the weight back to when your eyes were not hollow, then your eyes should naturally become less hollow as the fat around the eye regains volume. In the title, I mentioned eyelash enhancing treatments such as Latisse, and other other the counter eyelash treatments with the same side effect profile, such as darkening of the skin around the eyes, change in color of the iris, irritation, etc. These eyelash enhancers are prostaglandin analogue medications and can cause localized fat loss around the eyes, which can hollow the eyes with only a few weeks to months of treatment. If you happen to be on the eyelash enhancers, if you stop them, there is a good chance that in 6-10 weeks of stopping the treatment the fat around your eyes could regenerate naturally to give back the soft fullness that people who don't have hollow eyes have. Hope that makes sense. Best, Dr. Yang P.S. Answer: Improving Under Eye / Tear Trough with Injectable Fillers (Belotero, Volbella, Restylane Silk) -- add Lasers, Microneedling/PRP Thank you for your question. Fillers like Belotero, Volbella, and Restylane Silk are good for improving under the eyes, but keep in mind that a combination approach will give the most improvement. My patients try to get non-surgical treatments to avoid surgery, so we use fillers, lasers, microneedling/PRP and stem cells. I suggest consulting with an expert to develop a treatment plan best suited for you. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Sunken eyes Volume loss can happen for many reasons including age, weight loss, and genetics. There are no creams or oils that will replace lost volume. Fillers do a nice job of disguising under eye irregularities. The treatment is performed in the office and the results can last up to one year. See an expert injector in your area to learn more.

Answer: Treating Eye Hollows? Fillers or Surgery Under eye hollows can be permanently corrected with surgery or temporarily camouflaged with fillers (Restylane, Belotero, Volbella) which can also help nasolabial folds. There are great non-surgical options to fill in under eye depressions and hollowness. Using dermal fillers, a liquid eye-lift can be performed. A dermal filler such as Restylane would be placed in the cheek and tear trough to hide the depression or bag underneath your eye. Surgery would require a fat-repositioning lower lid blepharoplasty. In this surgical procedure, fat from the eye area is moved into the tear trough depression filling the actual depression. I hope this helps!

Answer: Sunken eyes and weight loss Hi and welcome to our forum! Unfortunately I cannot ascertain the nature of your condition without in-person evaluation. Are you attributing your weight loss to the presence of your dental braces? Are you experiencing discomfort? How long must they be worn? How much do you weigh? How tall are you? How much weight have you lost? How old are you? Do you have any medical conditions? ...and so much more! Significant weight loss will result in diminished fat about the orbits (periorbital fat), which is a possible cause of your sunken eyes. If the weight loss is significant, seek evaluation by your dentist, then perhaps your family physician, then perhaps a plastic surgeon. Best wishes...
