I thought both eyes would be a tighter smoother look after the surgery. It looks better than prior to the surgery but having gone through all of this & spending so much money, aren’t my expectations realistic & I should have a much smoother look to my lower eyes? I did express this to my doctor but he was actually insulted & disagreed with me. I don’t know about a revision. I don’t know how else to fix this or if he would even agree to doing a revision.
Answer: Early result after eyelid surgery It is impossible to give you any opinion about your result without seeing both before and after photos. Some lower eyelid deformities like tear trough are very difficult to treat; multiple modalities like fat and nano graft transfer may be needed in time to further improve result of lower blepharoplasty. Discussing options for further improvement with your surgeon and/or seeking a second opinion would be my advise. Good luck.

Answer: Eyelid concerns Thanks for your question! Have you spoken to your surgeon about your concerns? That's always the first step. Without knowing what your pre-operative photos were or how long ago your surgery was, it will be difficult for contributors here to offer meaningful insights. The good news is that most surgeons care greatly about their patients and their patient's satisfaction, so your surgeon will likely work with you to help optimize your results even more! Warm regards.

Answer: Enhancing lower blepharoplasty results Hi and thank you for reaching out for an opinion. Having your pre-op photo and additional views of you now would help. That said, I can see that you are healing without complications. It takes 3-6 months to see the final results from surgery, so wait it out. In the meantime, there some enhancements you can consider. In the end, these additional treatments may yield the results you wish without having to undergo any more surgery. Additional fat removal would not be necessarily desirable, as you risk ending up sunken instead, and that would expose the edge of the drooping cheek even more. The edge of your cheek (the midface) is lower than it used or needs to be, and this exposes the edge of the fat pads in the lower eyelids to be visible. Lifting and tightening the cheek-lower eyelid junction, by a non-invasive procedure such as Thermage or another radiofrequency technique, would tighten that junction, reduce the visibility of the lower eyelid fat that remains, and enhance/complete the smoothness of your surgical results. Fillers in the cheek and tear trough areas can also enhance surgical results. Hope this information helps you understand your options. Best, Dr Elba Pacheco

Answer: Lower bleph Thank you for your question. It is impossible to give you an answer without seeing a pre op photo of your eyes. It looks as though you are healing well and really need to give it a full six months for all the swelling to subside to see the final result. If not happy at that time then I would discuss a revision with your surgeon. Best of luck, Dr. Heffernan
