Hi and thank you for your question. I normallyadvise my patients that 90% of patients will have relatively normal sensation by 9 months postop. The other patients may take up to another 18 months to recover. By 2years then it is more than likely that there will be little further change.
Thank you for your question. Yes, it is normal to have breast numbness after breast surgery. Usually, most of the sensation will return 6-9 months after surgery. I usually tell patients that they should have recovery by 12 months. If there is stil numbness beyond this, it will likely not return. Best of luck to you.
Numbness with breast surgery is a risk of surgery and can take several months to go away. If you are still numb at a year's time, you may stay numb.
Most patients experience some numbness after surgery, and it generally takes up to year for sensation to fully return. You should have most sensation back within a few months.
Numbness especially on the inside of your breast near the breast bone is not uncommon after breast augmentation. Recovery of sensation is usually a complete by a year to a year and a half. I would say that any numbness you have at 2 years will be permanent. Fortunately you like your result and I believe your nipple sensation is intact which is most important.
I am glad that you like your breast augmentationresults. Numbness after having breastimplants placed is not unusual. In myexperience just about everyone has some numbness in their breasts after wards, especially on the inside or along the sternum. The numbness usually dissipates over the first 3 months. If it persists, the numbness is coming fromnerves that were cut or severely damaged during your surgery. This is not a slight on your surgeon as thesenerves are very small and we cannot see them when we are operating. Sometimes we damage the nerves and sometimeswe don't. Sometimes the damage is moresevere than other times. If a nerve is damaged, it must repair its fibers from thepoint of injury along the route of the nerve fiber (like a wire regeneratingitself). This process takes about a millimetera day at most (about the same rate your hair grows). So the further away the damage is from thearea the nerve serves or gives sensation to, the longer the recovery. If a nerve is permanently damaged then it make take a verylong time for the sensation to come back and it is likely that it will never benormal again. That is the ling answer to say that you may not get all ofyour sensation back if you are now almost a year from your breast augmentation. The good news is that you have a result thatyou love!I hope that helps.Best regards.

Postoperative discomfort after a breast augmentation can vary widely from person to person. There is genetic variation in how sensitive each of us is to pain, and the degree of trauma associated with the procedure differs, as well. (even with the same surgeon, as everyone is built...
Inamed was taken over by Allergan (Natrelle) who usually honors Inamed warranties. I recommend a consultation with a plastic surgeon and their staff should be able to see if your warranty is still valid. Good luck!
