This can happen but generally, I suggest patients wait about two weeks after their treatment before they assess their results. At two weeks, your injector can give you a top up and massage any lumps that still exist. You can ask your injector about Volbella, which is a Juvederm product designed for the lips.

Generally there is swelling and possible bruising after lip injections that could last anywhere from 1-2 weeks. I would book a follow up appointment with your injector after two weeks and discuss your concerns/ before and after photos. You may just need a little more product to get optimal results.  Good luck

When lips are injected they sometimes swell a lot. You don't really know how it will look until 2-3 weeks afterwards.  Juvederm cannot disappear that quickly so that 80% you feel went away was actually swelling.  You probably just need more to get the look you want.juvederm Plus is great for fuller lips but unless it is thinned out, it's a bit too thick for thin lips.  I prefer Juvederm or Restylane Silk for lips.

Your lips looked better without any product !Try Belotero next time. You will like what your lips look like immediately. 

It can take 2 weeks to see the full benefit of Juvederm.  There is usually initial swelling and perhaps bruising, so waiting is best.  If you think you require more Juvederm at that time, please return to your injector. Show her your before photo and explain what you would like.  I am in agreement that it is not the product that gives the result, but the person injecting.

Personally I prefer Ultra Plus always, not because it lasts any longer, but because I prefer the consistency of the product and find it to be superior. The issue here though isn't the product. RealSelf posts have a history of blaming bad products. But remember these products do not know how to function on their own. It is up to a good injector to use them properly.
