Mondors cords getting a little crazy? (photo)

By putting your hands up in the air and stretching out your body you are making them appear worse than it really is...... However, if you have pain, fever, nausea and the area is red then you have an emergency in your hands and you should see your doctor.Mondor cords are normally treated with massage and ibuprofen.Best of luck, Dr. ALDO :)

Thank you for your question.  Mondor's disease / cords after breast surgery is not a well understood condition . Fortunately, this is self-limiting and rarely causes any serious problems.  We have found that topical ibuprofen gel applied 3 to 4 times a day is beneficial to relieve the symptoms and help speed the resolution.  Hope you recover quickly. No real treatment for Mondors cords except time, massage, and perhaps some anti-inflammatory medications.  Rare problem and not understood why some patients suffer from this.An infected Mondors would need treatment, but this is more rare and would be red, tender, pus, with systemic symptoms such as fever.
