I had a tummy tuck from a well-known surgeon in Austin in January 2023 and it was a disaster. I woke up with pain I never experienced before. I still had a double fold of skin in my upper belly and the incision opened up within a few weeks and got infected. It took me 3 months to recover and the post-op care was poor. The surgeon offered to do a revision for free, but I did not have confidence in him. If he did not do it right the first time, why would he do a better job the second time? Plus he said that improvement would be minimal. I was very discouraged and fearful about having a revision. That's when I was referred to Dr. Decherd by my primary physician and another excellent plastic surgeon, both of whom I respected and knew had my best interests at heart. Dr. Decherd immediately put me at ease. He spent the time needed to make me comfortable and deal with my concerns and questions. He said that he could improve the results of my first surgery and make it at least 80 percent better. I also decided to have him do a breast augmentation at the same time. I had visited another surgeon for a second opinion and he said he "would not touch me" due to my tummy tuck issues from last year and problems associated with a previous breast augmentation several decades earlier. Based on that second opinion and the reassurance of both my primary physician and plastic surgeon noted earlier, I decided to proceed with Dr. Decherd. The difference in my experience with the surgeon in Austin and Dr. Decherd was like night and day! I had very little, if any pain. The double fold of skin in my belly is gone. Six weeks later, I can barely see scars from my incisions from either the tummy tuck or the breast augmentation. Dr. Decherd did not just make my tummy tuck revision 80 percent better - it's 120 percent better and above and beyond my expectations! I originally wanted a breast lift and was hesitant to get implants. I went instead with the smallest implants available and I can truthfully say that the outcome is dramatically better than I even imagined possible. I am so thankful to Dr. Decherd. He is an outstanding surgeon with a warm personality and an amazing support team, from the front desk staff, to Sarah, the patient coordinator, and Heather, his nurse, for their excellent and supportive post-op care, and the anesthesiologist and attending nurses during the surgery. The results speak for themselves and that's the way it should be!
I had waited to see Dr. Decherd for 9 months. He's very talked about in this area and I knew he was good and worth the wait! So happy I waited! Him and his staff took such good care of me, listened to everything I wanted and I'm having minimal pain. I already love what I see through the bandages and bruising!! Updated on 16 Mar 2024: Saggy lifeless boobs to a beautiful lifted boob with 485cc moderate profile! Updated on 26 Mar 2024: amazing! Healing so nice under 2 weeks post op. I’m so happy and confident :) Updated on 2 Apr 2024: Just SO SO SO happy! Such a great experience from the start- no pain, easy healing and they are beyond beautiful. Can’t believe they look this good in just 3 weeks. Updated on 30 May 2024: I scar very easy and I’m amazed how good they look two months out. Perfection!
I had three c-sections. I also gained and lost 100 lbs so my body needed some help! I did my research and found Dr. D to have great reviews. I also checked for any lawsuits or discipline by the medical board. After meeting him and seeing his results, I knew he was the one I wanted to do my surgery. There is another local dr. that is very popular but I didn't really like her vibe. Find the person who feels right for you. Being comfortable with your dr. is important too! Updated on 13 Dec 2023: MMO has gone so well. I am so happy I did it! Belly still looks great! Exercise has resumed. Zero swelling. I decided I went with too small of an implant size...boobie greed! I went back to my surgeon and let him know that I wish I had gotten a larger size. He agreed to swap out my implants. Since he was the one who had created the pockets such a short time prior, he stated it would be a simple procedure. I was AWAKE for the entire thing. SO EASY! Only took about 30 minute. I received numbing locally. He then simply removed the old (5 months!) implants and inserted the new ones! I went from 485 HP to 650 EHP.
I had a tummy tuck by Dr. Decherd last fall. Now that it's been 6 months and I see my final results I am even happier than I thought I would be. I waited for several months to see him for the initial consultation but it was worth it. He made me feel comfortable right away. I had been on two other consults before seeing him and I felt like he genuinely liked talking to me. Way different than the other doctors I had met with! The staff I met was super helpful and friendly. They were laid back and not stuffy which I liked. I liked that he told me confidently what he could do, but also listened to what I wanted. The day of surgery I brought my underwear that is the style I always wear and he marked me before surgery to make sure the scar stayed within the lines. So cool! I'm not an overweight person, just had two big babies, so I didn't know how dramatic my results would be but they are fantastic! My waist has come in so much and I look curvy in a good way! After care was exceptional. They were there any time I needed anything. I highly recommend Dr. Decherd. So happy I chose him!
Anna at Dr. Decherd is amazing. The whole staff is great! Went to get treated for a laser burn that happened at a spa and Anna the physician assistant recommend that I try the Halo. I love it. In fact my burn area on my cheek is clearing up. I highly recommend Dr. Decherd’s office for any type of services. Great Job!! Updated on 19 Mar 2022: Anna is amazing! I got burned with a Dot laser at Millenium Medi Spa so I went to see Anna at Dr. Decherd’s office and she set a plan for me so I agreed to Halo with BBL and finally I can wear my hair up and do t have to hide my burn mark. Literally almost gone. I’m so happy.
After having my daughter, no matter how much time I spent in the gym, there were just some body parts that were not going back so I opted for a full mommy makeover. It included tummy tuck with limited lipo, lipo of inner and outer thighs, breast lift, and breast augmentation (natrelle silicon low profile 350 cc). My biggest fear was choosing the right breast size! I wanted upper pole volume but not a ton of projection. It's rather rare for women to opt for low profile but they were perfect for my needs. So ladies if you have a decent amount of breast issue that needs to be lifted and your not looking for a massive size increase but upper fullness and better shape don't be afraid of the low profile! My after picture is just 4 days post op so there is obviously some swelling and my breasts are high but I can already tell I'm going to love the results! Dr Decherd and his staff have been beyond amazing and my after picture speaks volumes about his amazing work. Some tips, rent yourself a recliner lift chair and walker! the lift chair is a game changer! It's comfortable to sleep in and made getting in and out of bed so much easier. Have HELP, I had my mom, dad and husband with me, believe me you will need help for everything the first 3-4 days. The first 4 days are no joke mainly due to the side affects of anesthesia, but by day 5 I felt like I made the turn and have been backing off the major pain meds and the nausea is gone. I go in for my first post op in 3 days. I can't wait to see my results over the coming months! Updated on 31 Aug 2021: Updated on 14 Sep 2021: Extremely happy with my results! I can see my shape coming through more and more each week. I still am very swollen as you can tell by my side picture, but that’s a normal part of the process. The process is certainly a roller coaster of emotions but I know it will all be worth it in the end!
I had a breast augmentation done almost a year ago, I was a 36b to begin with and 500cc later I am now a 36DD, I absolutely love my new boobies. He did a great job and my down time was only a few days. I healed up nicely with no complications. I definitely recommend this doctor.
I went to Dr. Decherd for my breast augmentation and am so happy how it turned out. He and his staff were very friendly and professional through the entire experience. I went once for my consultation and quickly tried on sizers. The whole following week I worried about if the size was what I wanted so I called to ask if I could try on the sizers again and they told me to just walk in anytime to try them on. I ultimately went for the max size in the range they recommended for me. 420cc high profile round silicone. My pre-op and post-op care were superb (my nurse was Denise love her!), Dr. Decherd and his anesthesiologist both talked to me before the procedure and I felt like I was in great hands the entire time (my perspective as a L&D/postpartum nurse with experience in the OR). Recovery was fine, I definitely took the pain meds I was given for the first 4 days then started to ween myself down. Those first few day my husband helped me do everything, even wash my hair lol. My boobs were so high and started off square looking, I knew it was a normal part of the process but it still was freaky. After a few months they started to drop and fluff, not at the same time though. It's almost been a year now and I am so in love with them. I got new bras and they sized me at a 32DD! And that's on coming from 32AA :) I'm so happy I did it! I have 2 kids and was really getting in the best shape of my life before the surgery but my boobs were shrunken from weight loss and deflated from the kids. I hope my experience helps you guys, I know I was obsessed with reading reviews and seeing the befores and afters while I was deciding on whether to do it
I'm post-op 10 weeks. I had a tummy tuck with muscle repair and lipo. I literally teared up when I saw my stomach for the first time. I don't 'feel' pregnant anymore, my belly button looks natural and I still can't believe how flat my stomach is! The staff and nurses are caring and helpful.I never felt rushed, he took the time to listen & answer all my questions. Dr. Decherd has EXCEEDED my expectations. I have mentioned him to everyone I know that is considering a tummy tuck! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. DECHERD!
I'm 62 y/o and have been obese more of my life than not. I finally got the weight off and worked out, but skin can't be exercised. Dr. D was recommended to be by my General Practioner. It has now been one week since my tummy tuck and breast lift. I feel great! Bullets:- Great and efficent front office staff. Trust me, that can make or break the experience.- Cost, deposits, and final pay date, well defined, with no surprises.- Dr D and Sarah, coordinator, spent a good deal of time with me, helping me decide was was good for me, and managing expectations. YOU CAN TRUST THEM.- Surgery suite is private and not in a hospital. Only reason I went ahead during the Covid times. I won't go to a public hospital.- Anesthesologist was so comforting. He explain everything and was patient with my questions. I don't know what they gave me in pre-op room, but it was good! I don't remember being wheeled into the operating suite. Stress less.- After surgery, they are just nice. They made sure my husband understood the instructions, and sent us home prepared.- Pain was shockingly mild. At most, I was uncomfortable. The binders are a [RS bleep], but they are critical for a great final result. I had adequate pain meds and didn't used them after the 3rd day.- I was allowed to shower 24 hours after!!!! And I did. Heaven.- I had /have two drains in my mons for the tummy tuck. They don't hurt, but they are uncomfortable and need to be emptied and the fluid tracked. It's not hard, just not something I wanted to do, but I do.The first time I took off my clothes and binders and looked in the mirror!- 24 hours after surgery I took my shower. I took off the binders/compression garments, held my drains in my hands, and stood in front of a full length mirror. I was stunned. Absolutely stunned. Even with the tape, stitches, a bit of bruising and drains, I looked amazing. My stomach was absolutely flat.....absolutely. My waist was smaller, and has gotten smaller each day. I had a rocken body.- I opted for a breast lift vs implant. I was a DD and think I'll be somewhere between a very full C or D. They are beautiful, natural looking. My aerolas were placed perfectly and I have feeling in them. Everything is swollen and will change, but the beginning start is just amazing.- Day after tomorrow I go do see if my drains can be taken out. That will be a banner day when I can. I'll update this with progress and pics.
So, to my knowledge polyurethane has been not FDA-approved for some time. Silimed makes them and they are used outside the US. In the US, Silimed’s other implant technology was used, or licensed, or something in the sale of Sientra implants, but they were not polyurethane. Sientra declared bankruptcy but was bought by Tiger Aesthetics. I was just at the Texas Society meeting and Tiger has a booth. But unless I missed something, polyurethane is not FDA-approved in the US currently.
In my opinion they sure do. The muscle somehow kind of holds the implants in place. On Top they tend to end up as a "rock-in-a-sock" over time. Also, the upper pole is filled in Under and has a more natural look. Lastly, there is a much better (lower) rate of capsular contracture Under the muscle. Good Luck!
There is not a "non-invasive" way to deal with that. Some of that skin needs to be removed. It gets tricky with the piercing there as well...I'd start with a consultation, but it might be easiest to leave it alone. Good luck!
Hello! So there is a lot to unpack here. First, yes the areola can be made smaller. Next, what type of asymmetry? Areola positional asymmetry can be improved. As far as volume asymmetry, one can either make the smaller breast larger, or, more commonly, one can make the larger breast smaller. So all that is basically in the breast lift/breast reduction universe. Good luck!
It sounds like they have bottomed out and/or lateralized. To fix that it requires sewing off the pocket internally. The scars can usually also be revised and improved. Good luck!
