Will I benefit from Genioplasty alone? (Photo)

Question

I have no issues with bite. I do not want to do a jaw surgery as it’s too invasive. However I want to have a balanced profile. Will genioplasty be beneficial for me? Thanks.

In the photo, your chin projection can be improved with an advancement genioplasty. You are also a candidate for a chin implant. Either procedure will give you a nice result and improve your facial balance without the need for braces or invasive jaw surgery.

You are a candidate for a genioplasty. Your chin is a bit short and recessed. By moving it forward and down, it would bring balance to your profile while elongating your jawline. Without any pictures from the front, I cannot say if you have any asymmetry, but that would be fixed with a genioplasty as well. When considering mandibular surgery, it’s important to have a clear understanding of what part of the mandible needs treatment. Your chin already has fairly good forward projection. The primary problem is in the body of the mandible, and therefore John Vance Bent would give a better outcome. You’re certainly not alone and not Juan. Need to have that procedure. Horizontal advancement of your chin will deepen your labiomental fold.
I suggest having a few in person, consultations with local, oral surgeons or plastic surgeons who have experienced with the procedure.
Quality aesthetic surgery should always begin with having a clear understanding of what the underlying problem or ideology is.
