The gonial area is the area at the posterior jawline, the angle of the jaw. During a facelift, the skin and muscular tissue is lifted and tightened around this area. We prefer the deep plane technique of facelifting. Should further augmentation of the gonial area be desired, then a mandibular angle implant may be placed.
