I had liposuction 14 days ago. Both inner and outer thighs. My bmi is perfect. And I'm extremely petite. But needed a bit on the outer and inner thigh impossible to work off spots. 14 days later and my inner thigh (tendon?) feels incredibly tight and painful if I attempt a squat or any movements requiring those tendons. What do I need to do to fix this? Time? Muscle relaxer?

What you are experiencing is fairly typical for the liposuction of the lower extremities. Ask your surgeon re: his or her post op protocol, but you could try taking ibuprofen, and alternating heat and ice. Best, Dr. Nazarian

Healing after plastic surgery is a process and the earlier parts are the most challenging.  Emotions are a big part of the process as well.   Best is to discuss specifically with the operating surgeon so that he /she can take a look.

Most patients experience significant swelling and even firmness of soft tissues after liposuction.  This resolves with compression, activity restrictions, massage, and time.  Usually it takes more than 14 days if you have a significant problem.  A secondary issue could be a factor here.  You could have an issue with a thrombus in a vein.  If that is the case then you may need further evaluation and treatment.  I would recommend that he contact your  and get in to see them soon to make sure this is just routine postoperative swelling and discomfort.

Thank you for your question, and I am sorry that you are dealing with this tightness.  I would recommend you see your surgeon for an in-person evaluation.  It sounds, most likely, like a musculoskeletal issue, with essentially a "cramping" of the muscle/tendon.  This could be treated with massage, myofascial release techniques, or muscle relaxants in addition to drinking lots water with electrolytes (coconut water for example).

It's normal to have swelling and discomfort after liposuction. However the area you describe could be affected by inflammation of the veins which would require specific treatment. You should call your surgeon and report the condition.

Only 14 days after liposuction then I'm surprised that's the only discomfort that you are still experiencing particularly after lip of the lower extremities.  Warm soaks can help alleviate the pain and tightness and I advise my patients to begin to slow careful stretching movements to help stretch up and relieve such discomfort.  A little more time and this type of feeling should gradually resolve.

without posting any photos and no in person examination very hard to help. Best to see your surgeon to treat this issue. You might have swelling, or injury to deeper tissues. And a possible sensory cutaneous nerve pain syndrome???

It is unusual for someone to have that level of discomfort two weeks after liposuction. What you describe is most likely muscle pain.This could happen during liposuction.It is more likely to happen if the liposuction was done using General Anastasia. generally timer helps and it is a rare if ever the patients have chronic pain after liposuction. I am usually encourage my patients to use high-dose ibuprofen afterwards and find it this is quite helpful to relieve the discomfort felt after liposuction. It was most likely traumatized during liposuction with the cannula. Apply ice and heat alternately and take ibuprofin.
