BBL after hip surgery from car accident trauma

Question

Hi. I was involved in a car accident which ended up with a fractured acetabulum with plate and screws put in my hip. This happened in 2019 and i am active and healthy with everything healed properly. I am interested in BBL but am worried about the trauma surrounding my hip to flare up again. I am leaning toward airsculpt BBL. Should I be concerned with this affecting my hip or should it be okay for BBL being done?

Based on the details you've provided, there doesn't appear to be any contraindication to performing fat transfer to your hips and buttocks. Trauma to an area doesn't automatically rule out the possibility of fat transfer. In fact, fat grafting is frequently used to reconstruct areas with defects caused by trauma, congenital issues, or even cancer treatments.
Therefore, I concur that you can certainly consider a BBL. Fat transfer can be an effective way to address indentations or asymmetries, particularly in areas affected by an accident, such as your hip. It's important to consult with an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate your specific situation and provide personalized advice.

This history should not be an issue. Fat injection could also arguable help the scarring in this area as there is some evidence to show that fat transfer carries with it some stem cells that can rejuvenate other tissues. In fact, we often utilize fat grafting to achieve contour symmetry following traumatic injuries to various areas of the body.

You may or may not be a good candidate for a BBL.
