I want lipo but ive noticed there are doctors here on eealself who work in hospitals like harlem hosp and lenox hill and they also have private offices Which seem to be more expensive than the hospitals, why is that? an is there a list that i can review so i can go straight to the hospital , versus paying all that money to go to the offices

I would also recommend that you consider surgeon experience and credentials as one of your major deciding factors on who to have your surgery with.

It is definitely possible to have your procedure performed at a hospital to which your surgeon is affiliated. The cost of surgery involves fees for your facility, anesthesia, and surgeon, the former two should vary based on the where you elect to have your surgery performed. Each practice will have a different method of receiving payment with some collecting all the money up front and they will take the responsibility of paying all the relevant parties, while other practices will have the patient pay the individual parties on their own.
