A deep plane neck lift or neck/jawline liposuction? (Photo)

Question

I have attached pictures of myself as well as my wish pictures. For reference, I’m 5’1 and currently 157 pounds. I plan on loosing 20 to 30 pounds in the next 6 months.  Once I loose weight, I plan on getting a rhinoplasty, chin implant and I want to do something for my jawline/neck. In order to get a snatched, neck/jawline is it best to do neck/jawline liposuction or get a deep plane neck lift? Is liposuction alone effective for the neck/jawline?

If you are planning on losing a signficant amount of weight, I would do this first and then evaluate what should be done for neck contour. Based on your photos, you would likely benefit from a chin implant and liposuction with a skin tightening device such as FaceTite or BodyTite. This may change following weight loss though and you may need a formal skin excision procedure to truly get the results you desire.

Nothing compares to a deep neck lift. This is because liposuction and kybella only treat the fat directly below the skin, which typically responds to diet. A deep neck lift will also treat the structures under the muscle of the neck (diet resistant fat, enlarged digastric muscle, enlarged glands) and provide an improved platform/contour. Also, you have a pretty deep labiomental crease to start- a sliding genioplasty will be the better option for you if you truly need chin augmentaiton.

It would take a lot of guessing to answer your question. It is best to wait until you achieve your weight reduction and than make consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. However, if you plan to do your surgery soon, neck lift with jawline liposuction plus chin implant would be my suggestion. Hope this helps.

It would be better to lose the weight first before any type of cosmetic surgery, especially in the neck. Most of your fat deposits are genetic and located below the plasma muscle, which is going to require deep neck lift procedure to remove the deep fat below the muscle, and liposuction remove the fat deposits above the muscle. Strongly consider placement of a small chin implant to augment your chin forward for better jawline enhancement, since you have a recessive chin. Both procedures are done simultaneous under general anesthesia.
