I need to remove a scar due to eyebrow piercing? Would excision or CO2 be a better option? (photo)

I have a scar on the eyebrow due to a piercing i had years ago. I wanted to do something and the option i had so far are: excision of the whole canal beneath the eyebrow and co2 fractioned laser of Acupulse Lumenis, what do you think are my best option? I'm leaning torward the laser

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.

A combination approach will give the most improvement. I recommend lasers, microneedling/prp, subcision and fillers. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer

In  my opinion you have a large depressed saucer-shaped scar. Options for this scar include subcision, infini, PRP or a filler. It is my opinion that excision will create another scar that will need to be treated. CO2 laser does not lift scars. You will need to to lift this scar prior to performing a CO2 laser to smooth the edges. Find a scar expert. Ask to see photos.Acne scar nj.com

You would most likely do best with a combination of treatments.  It sounds like you have patent canal, which would not be amenable to CO2 laser alone.  You would need to have a procedure to ablate or remove that canal, and address the depressions of the entry and exit sites.  CO2 laser afterwards could help minimize the appearance of the area.
