I'm very, very red (also very fair skinned). The red is almost like a patchwork where the laser hit me. I was swollen on day 2 but not terribly. There is no indication that i will peel or slough off. My question is: should I be oozing blood? It appears this may be a normal part of the procedure but I haven't oozed at all. Does this mean I may not see the results I had hoped for?

No, this doesn't mean you won't get good results. I recommend following up with your Doctor about after care. I recommend skin care with vitamin c, b5 hydrator, silicone based scar gels with growth factors and enzymatic washes with papaya enzyme. PDT therapy can help calm inflammation. Sun protection is essential. Typically I recommend adding clear and brilliant, fraxel, viva 4-6 weeks after co2 to improve results along with microneedling/prp to get the best outcomes with texture and tone.  Please see an expert. Judging from your picture, you look just like you should for the third day after a CO2, so I do think you can expect good results.  Some people have significant oozing, while others have none.  It is very important that you are on a good post-procedure routine, including keeping your face covered with aquaphor or a similar product and that you are not getting any sun exposure.  If you were not given instructions on a post routine, please follow-up with your provider so that you are doing everything you should in order to maximize your results.
