Will wearing a hat on a 6 hour flight home affect FUE transplanted hairs to fall out?

It is probably too late to think about if wearing a hat could have affected your surgery. It probably wouldn't but if you're concerned it is a good idea to follow up with your doctor.  If you cannot see your doctor in person, you can email your doctor.

I don't think you need to worry about having worn this hat after your hair transplant. The key to wearing a hat after a hair transplantation, early on, is that you don't put a lot of pressure on the grafts or shear them out of the scalp. It sounds like you were very careful, and the hat wasn't resting on the grafts putting a lot of pressure on them. It is perfectly acceptable to wear a loose hat after a hair transplant - Strip FUT or FUE and many clinics will supply one. If your clinic doesn't then make sure to check that they are happy with the one you have brought.What is important is that the grafts are not touched or they may be pulled out. Be careful with beanies or woolly hats as they can stick to the grafts especially if there is a bit of oozing. A loose baseball cap would be better. 

We just give out baseball hats in my clinic. A Fedora! Fancy clinic. I wouldn't worry about some contact between the hat and the grafts. If there wasn't any wet blood that allowed the grafts to "bond" to the hat, then the simple pressure of the hat will make absolutely no difference. Grafts are TOUGH. Don't worry. Grow well. No issue at all! As long as the hat was clean and did not rub hard along the transplanted area, this is no problem at all. 

This is offered as a gift to all of my patients. We have a standard truckers hat that is able to be used without tightness. Flying is not a problem
