Is restylane volume suitable for filling lips?

Question

Hi I got lip fillers 8 days ago & my upper lip is very lumpy. They used restylane on my lips before & got good results but it didn't last long so I was advised to pay more & get restylane Volyme !! They want me to go back next week to sort problem. Any advice? I expect them to desolve for nocharge but do you think I should expect them to fill my upper lip again free of charge? I've just payed them €400 & my lips are so bad! I've requested a different lip filler expert!

Having a few lumps is a risk of lip injections. However, your lumpiness looks pretty significant. I suggest a second opinion, with an in-person examination and a different injector to review what has been done.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO

restylane have just rebranded their products in the UK and its surprisingly hard to find which of the old products correspond to which of the new products. Having said that, the products meant for lips is kysse.  Volume is for deeper facial compartment filling like cheek or temporal volume. These deeper products are thicker, longer lasting but also lumpier. I think that your practitioner has mistaken it for a thinner superficial product. Its not for me to tell other practitioners how to run their practice but this is not currently an acceptable result.Hope that helps. Adam Goodwin

Thank you for sharing your question and photo. Restylane is
a fine product for the lips, however there are some better options. In my
practice, I like to use Juvederm Volbella for the lips because it gives the
most natural look in my opinion. I do see the lumps you are noticing on the
upper lip. While this can be normal for 2 weeks post injections, I recommend
returning to your injector to discuss your concerns. It is likely that the
filler needs to be dissolved with hyaluronidase and replace the filler at a
