It's been like this for 10 years or more. It worsen gradually and it happens all the time, not only when I'm tired. It is specially obvious on pictures and it bothers me. What is the cause of this? Is there any way to fix it? Thank you.

Answer: Ptosis You have mild ptosis. There can be some ocular causes of ptosis so please get an eye exam and have the ophthalmologist look before the technicians give you dilating drops. Also, have them look under the lid.If nothing is found and your exam confirms simple ptosis that the surgical fix is ptosis repair most likely done by an ophthalmologist or oculo-plastic surgeon.

Answer: One eye more open than the other... Based on the photograph, you may have ptosis, but you also seem to have exophoria/ exotropia, an outward deviation of the eyes. This may be worse when tired. Both the eyelid and the ocular muscles should be evaluated. If you have an extraocular muscle problem, this should be addressed prior to having the lid surgery. (The eyelid position might improve, if the eyes are aligned properly.) You could start with an Oculoplastics specialist or a Strabismus/Pediatric Ophthalmology specialist. Best wishes.
