My eyes have a sharp outer pinch making them look slanted as smaller. Both eyes look different and didn’t have that problem. All I wanted was some lower skin remover but my doctor suggested this will be the best method. Is there anything I can do to restore the natural cotour to normal again.
Answer: You have had an extremely complex surgically caused injury to your eyelids and midface. The probability that the surgeon who performed your original surgery can help you, let alone has any insight as to what actually happened here is very low. In my opinion, there is also something very strange with the doctor who posted "congratulating" you for having an excellent result. This is not an excellent result. On the other hand I would not assume that the lateral canthal and midface changes are your only issues. I think you need a very detailed assessment of your issues to determine what precisely is causing your changed appearance. The upper eyelids seem to have developed a new ptosis or heaviness since your surgery and this also seems to be contributing to your issues. I think you can be helped but it starts with a highly detailed assessment.

Answer: See an oculoplastic specialist and discuss with your surgeon Best to discuss with your surgeon and/or see an oculoplastic surgeon. Consultation is required to determine exactly what bothers you and what options are available for improvement in eye shape.

Answer: Lower eyelid contour... Hi Psrivera10,As a surgeon answering a lot of questions on RealSelf, and seeing tons of photos of facial surgeries gone wrong, let me congratulate you for actually having had a surgery with excellent results. Your before photos show too much of the white of the eye just above your lower eyelid. Your 4 month picture shows a natural appearing contour to the lower eyelid. This may seem different for you, and will take some getting used to, but as an objective observer I feel your eyes look better now than they used to.Follow with your surgeon for additional concerns.Best wishes,Dr. Jay

Answer: Post lower lid surgery You had some scleral show in the before photos. Most patients do not want this appearance, and if a lower lid surgery is done, the lid can actually end up lower if some sort of tightening is not done at the same time. When this is done the shape of the eye will change and become more almond shaped. In the early post-op photos your eye does look too small. However as the healing continues, the eye is becoming more open, and the lid height is actually pretty good. It would be hard to do a revision that would make your eyelid look like it did before. I would wait at this point as it seems that with time your eye is looking more open and may soon be acceptable to you.

Answer: Lateral canthoplasty/canthopexy: I had surgery 4 months ago. I’m concerned my eyelids have lost their natural contour. I agree with the others that your surgeon has accomplished a very natural and satisfactory result. I'm hopeful that with time and some tissue relaxation you'll agree that this has provided a very nice improvement. Best wishes,Jon A.
