Hi! Thank you for reading my question. I had my first nose surgery 13 years ago, and then I had a revision rhinoplasty one month ago. I live in Italy, but I traveled to another country just to have this surgery. Because of my visa and travel limits, I can’t stay long enough to wait the full 6 to 12 months that’s usually needed to see the final results. Now, about one month after surgery, I see some depressions and uneven shape on the tip of my nose. My surgeon told me to wait about 3 months total, and if the tip still looks the same, he will do a small touch-up surgery (tip plasty) — only under local anesthesia, with no cast or tampon, and just a few stitches. My question is: Is this kind of second, small surgery — just to fix the tip — common or safe among experienced nose surgeons? Is it normal to do a tip correction just a few months after a revision rhinoplasty? I really appreciate any help or answers. Thanks so much!
