Thank you for your question regarding whether a tummy tuck will expose your nonerect penis. During a tummy tuck, an incision is made on your lower abdomen. Tissue dissection is carved up to the umbilicus then up to the rib cage. The rectus abdominus muscles are sutured and excess skin and fat from the pubic region to above the belly button are directly excised. What I offer to almost all of my male patients is a further extension of this standard tummy tuck. Specifically, I would remove fat in the pubic region just above the penis. A second thing I do is release the rein ligaments of the penis. Reducing the fat above the penis allows the skin to stick down to the abdominal facia. This gains a couple of inches of projection of the penis by anchoring the skin further to your core. Releasing the check rein ligaments to your penis also adds length to the penis. The check rein ligaments of your penis restrict the descent of the penis. Once these are released, patients are able to get more length. Therefore, with these two maneuvers, namely, removal of supra-pubic fat and release of the check rein ligaments, you will get more length to your penis with a tummy tuck. Please seek a board-certified plastic surgeon who does these two procedures routinely on his male patients. Thank you for your question regarding whether a tummy tuck will expose your nonerect penis.
