Hi. I want to know when I can stop worrying about infections or any post op complications that can come with lipo 360/bbl. I believe chance of infections usually goes away once incisions are closed but I would like clarification if possible?
Answer: Infection Dear Keeetz, there is no exact point in time when there is no risk of infection. The risk is highest in early postoperative period. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: When does the infection period go away for lipo 360/BBL? Hello @Keeetz, thank you for your question. Most complications related to infection occur within the first few weeks after surgery. Once your incisions are completely healed, typically around 2-3 weeks post-op, the risk of infection significantly decreases. However, it is still important to keep the communication line open with your specialist to address any situation that may arise. The best course of action is to consult one or several board certified plastic surgeon for more information and options tailored specifically to your needs. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS. Answer: Infection appearance timing Most post-op infections appear in the 3-8 days postoperative period. With BBL's, you also worry about fat necrosis (which is not an infection) which may appear months later. Best wishes, Dr. Taranow

Answer: Postoperative infections Most postoperative infections present 3 to 5 days after surgery. Sometimes infections can be delayed and I’ve seen Liposuction infections develop several weeks after the procedure. Generally speaking infections are rare for both Liposuction and fat transfer, but do happen from time to time. The most likely negative outcome from this procedure are poor aesthetic results, typically as a result patients, either not understanding their candidacy for the procedure, or not, putting in sufficient effort, and choosing the right provider.
