I suggest going back to your surgeon and seeing what was performed. In the mean time, botox/dysport and treatments like thermage/venus legacy can help. Best, Dr. Emer.
Although it is better to examine you personally and not having known exactly what was done, I believe that surgical revision is an option to consider. Its really best to see your original surgeon again who knew exactly what he did in the first place.
I recommend you review the operative report and discuss with your surgeon. Also, I recommend you review post operative photos at different times during the post operative period.
It is difficult to know exactly why you have residual banding in your neck following your procedure without looking at the operative report. An exam would be very helpful as well. I would follow up with your surgeon and find out what options you have for a better result.
Without knowing exactly what your surgeon did and an in person exam, it is hard to make a recommendation. In some cases, face and neck massages help. See your surgeon for his recommendation. You may need a revision.
Dear kar,Thank you for your question and photo. I'm sure you are somewhat disappointed with the residual/new banding in your neck following necklifting. Without a face-to-face examination I can't give you a definitive answer but it is likely that you will require surgical revision for correction. If this is from a now visible platysma muscle that was "revealed" (and not completely treated) at the time of your necklift, then a short term solution would be to consider Botox injections to relax the muscle. If it from tethering due to post-operative scarring, surgical revision would be indicated. It is important to return to your surgeon and be specific about your concerns to achieve the best result.Best wishes.

I can certainly understand your concern. I always suggest to my patients, if they have any concerns during their healing to call me and discuss those #concerns. I encourage you do the same to your doctor. Meanwhile, perhaps this may provide clarity on healing expectations. Though recovery from a...
