You will need to allot at least one week for recovery after your eye-bag surgery. Depending on how extensive the procedure was and your own personal healing time, it may take longer. You can get a better idea of the time you’ll need to arrange off from work when you have your consultation. I hope this helps.
Thank you for sharing your question. Typically, the obvious appearance of surgery resolves in 2 weeks; however, many patients return to work after a week... yes, still bruised and swollen. Make an appointment for comprehensive evaluation and discussion of treatment options with an experienced Oculoplastic Surgeon.Good luck,
Hello and thank you for your question. Thebest advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. The usual recovery time for a lower eyelid blepharoplasty is one week due to bruising. Make sure you specifically lookat before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgeryperformed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The mostimportant aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommendthat you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon whocan evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Lower blepharoplasty can have very little downtime. I usually perform these in the office setting and sutures are removed in 3-4 days. If I perform it through the inside of the eyelid, then there are no sutures at all. Bruising typically occurs but is mild and usually resolves by a week. Makeup can be worn on anything that is not a suture. Most patients are back to work in 3-4 days, but I've had many that work from home the next day. There is usually a little blurriness the first couple of days, but that also resolves quickly. All swelling can take months to resolve, but most patients look really good within a week. Lower eyelid blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) usually requires about one week of downtime. At that point patients have discontinued any prescribed post-operative medications and necessary followup appointments have been fulfilled. There can be a minimal amount of bruising and swelling during this time, which can easily be camouflaged with eye glasses or a small amount of makeup.
Dear Greg61Thank you for your question! The downtime varies with the type of procedure- so bruising is worse in the first 5 to 7 days and can take up to 3 weeks to resolve. With Warm RegardsTrevor M Born MD
I normally tell my patients the recovery time after lower eyelid surgery is about one week. During this time, the patient can walk and see fine but strenuous activity should be avoided. It is possible that there may be some bruising in the recovery period as well.
The recovery from lower eyelid surgeries lis argely about appearance and not physical functioning. It take 2 to 3 weeks before one will look non-surgical in appearance.
It depends on the type of procedure and what kind of work you do. A transconjunctival blepharoplasty may have a faster recovery, but if skin excision is needed, or fat is repositioned, it may take longer. Best to ask your surgeon.
If it is just fat removal then tit can be done with only internal incisions along the inside of the lower lid. You can probably go back to work within a week, but may have some bruising.
Thank you for sharing your question. No treatment option is as effective as Blepharoplasty in removing the extra skin from the upper eyelids. Sometimes, this can be performed in conjunction with laser skin resurfacing in order to give the skin a better texture. See an experienced Oculoplastic ...
Plasmage (Plexr), like The Ten Minute Eyelift, work by using heat to induce immediate tissue contraction and to ultimately promote new collagen formation (neocollagenesis) when treating both the upper or lower eyelids. When used for hooding of the upper lids or lid redundancy the tissue s...
You do have some excess skin at the upper lids, which appears to be causing your complaints. A conservative "skin only" blepharoplasty can be easily performed under local anesthesia to refresh your upper lids. We do occasionally see patients your age with similar concerns. Good Luck!
