Is abdominal lipo worth it and does $9,000 seem too pricey?

I am scheduled to have u/l abdominal ad well as flank lipo and am getting nervous about results/vs cost. Really worth it, will it look worse? I have pretty good skin as well as muscle under.

Without seeing your photos, it is difficult to give an opinion. But , cheap lipos are everywhere and they give horrible results. Avoid general anesthesia and make sure your doc uses the smaller cannulas and turns you and stands you up during the procedure for best fine tuning. $9000 is not too much for quality liposuction of the tummy and flanks.

best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  If you have excess fat and good skin elasticity, then you may be a good candidate for liposuction.  Cost varies based on geographic region and surgeon expertise.   Make sure you specifically look
at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery
performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most
important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend
that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who
can evaluate you in person.

This is difficult to answer without pictures, but liposuction can give you great results with fat reduction and body shaping. For best results, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. Thank you for your question. Pictures would help to give you the best advice about what your wanting but without them I can tell you pricing for liposuction is extremely variable depending on several things. The main issue is if the surgeon has his own surgery center which dramatically lowers the cost for the patient. Sometimes that’s not feisable in larger cities so cost is escalated. In our practice for those areas we charge 4600$ for regular liposuction and 5600$ for smart liposuction. I think the next best step is to submit pictures of the areas of concern to make sure liposuction is the best choice.

In our area $9000 for just liposuction of the abdomen and flank would be high. Remember lipsuction is safely limited to 5 liters at one time. In addition the surgeon should evaluate whether this or an abdominoplasty or weight loss is your best option.If you are uncertain get a second opinion from a board certified plastic surgeon.

Hopefully you have seen lots of pictures of patients just like yourself that your Plastic Surgeon has helped with Liposuction. What volume of fat is going to be taken off? Many patients do not understand that to take off larger volumes, an overnight stay may be necessary for your safety. The time needed varies greatly by the amount coming off and the areas treated, thus affecting the cost.  It is best to see 2 or 3 Board Certified Plastic Surgeons and compare results as there is a wide variation in expertise. The cost may be related to the length of the procedure and areas addressed. Abdomen and hip rolls may take over 2 hours and additional charges for center and anesthesia can drive up the price.
