Hello docs, I would like to know how effective J Plasma is for tightening abdomen after liposuction. How popular is this procedure and what is the satisfaction rate? Is there any other treatment better than it out there?

Thanks for submitting this question. I perform 8-12 liposuction cases a week and utilize all of the technologies and techniques available. I have recently tried the plasma and unfortunately did not find the results dramatic enough to warrant me bringing it into my practice given the cost. Currently, well performed liposuction with VASER is the best option available to patients. The degree of skin looseness is individual and will depend on how stretchy the skin is before surgery. I like to show patients pictures of people with similar skin and how they look after surgery. Some people dont mind a little extra skin because they like the low scar burden of lipo. Some people want to be as tight as possible and thus sometimes I need to do a small skin excision which I usually do really low on the abdomen and preserve the belly button

J plasma is not FDA approved for this area. It sounds risky. For the tightest tummy possible, consider a tummy tuck, especially if you're postpartum. Be sure to have consultations with board certified plastic surgeons only.
