I had my surgery 6 days ago, liposuction of abdomen, flanks, back and arms. Today I feel more floated and swollen than 2 days ago. It is normal? I will begin my pos-op massage tomorrow and my doc tomorrow will take off my drainage from my back
Answer: Today I feel more bloated and swollen than 2 days ago. It is normal with lipo? Your bloating is normal. At this point, you could be more constipated due to pain medications. Have your doctor check your stomach area very carefully especially if you have not had a bowel movement yet.Good luck, Dr. ALDO

Answer: Today I feel more bloated and swollen than 2 days ago. It is normal with lipo? Recovery will vary based upon the amount of liposuctioned fat, but swelling can last for 3 to 6 months. The result will depend upon that amount as well as the skill with which it is removed to maintain a smooth contour. Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Swelling after Liposuction & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave, hyperbaric oxygen Yes, you will have swelling, which can fluctuate and can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Answer: Yes, its completely normal Hi! thanks for your question. And the answer is yes, it is normal to feel more bloated and swollen six days after liposuction. Swelling and fluid retention are common post-operative responses that fluctuate during the initial recovery period. What to Expect:- Swelling: Swelling typically peaks within the first week post-surgery and can last for several weeks to months.- Fluid Retention: Feeling bloated is often due to fluid retention and the body's natural inflammatory response to surgery. Key Points:- Post-Op Massages: Starting your post-operative massages can help reduce swelling and improve fluid drainage.- Drain Removal: Your doctor removing the drains will also help in reducing fluid buildup and swelling.- Follow-Up: Ensure you follow all post-operative care instructions from your surgeon and attend all follow-up appointments. When to Contact Your Surgeon:- Contact your surgeon immediately if you experience severe pain, increased redness, excessive drainage, or signs of infection (fever, chills). Your current symptoms are likely part of the normal healing process but always stay in close communication with your medical team for personalized advice and reassurance.
