Hello.Great question. I am sorry for your post op difficulties. It is unusual for your incisions to be draining 11days post op. I will suggest following up with your surgeon asap as he knows your procedure best.
Dear cdk85209,liposuction can cause drainage from the wound. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Hi there, thank you for your question. Congratulations on your surgery. It is normal to get persistent drainage from the incision sights for the first week. I recommend following up with your plastic surgeon to ensure he/she is not concerned. Best of luck.
Hello, thanks for your question!! I recommend you to go to your surgeon and check your incision, besides that liquid drainage should stop by the first 5 days to a week. Don't be alarmed, everything will be fine, this can be a serum or anything you're doing on your daily basis. Good luck!!
Thank you for your question. Usually drainage stops in 2-3 days and definitely by 1 week. If it persists it cab be serum or low grade infection or too much activity. Please see your PS for evaluation
if incisions are left open people typically drain from 1 to 3 days. Small amounts of drainage can persist for up to a week and while unusual can continue longer. Arms seem to drain longer than other areas. I'm not sure why but that seems to be the case. Incisions that are closed with sutures typically don't drain as long. Personally I like to leave the incisions open for several reasons If uncertain please contact your provider. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.
Thank you for your question. Based on your pictures you appear to be great candidate for neck lift. I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results. Kind regards,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Thank you for asking about your liposuction recovery.Although it is likely that you are feeling swelling or inflammation as your liposuction heals, your surgeon needs to examine you to explain this. Hope this helps. Best wishes. Elizabeth Morgan MD PHD FACS Board Certified Plastic Surgeon,
Dear Sofia, Hello and thank you for your excellent question. HRT and blood clots are a concern during a general anesthetic, but not if you have your liposuction performed awake, under local anesthesia only. Awake liposuction has virtually no risk of blood clot formation. You may want...
